Internship is an ambiguous term that is (0) OPEN to many forms of interpretation. What is clear is that the term internship (1) ............ to on the job training for what we call “white collar” professions. In many ways they are similar to apprenticeships in which people learn a trade, skill or a (2) ............ profession, but what is not so clear is exactly who takes part in them. They are open to anyone from high school students to university graduates. The other indirect benefits of this work experience are that participants can determine if a job really interests them and employers can also gauge a candidate's aptitude. The main issue with internships in the current job market and what concerns most people (6) ............ work nowadays is that companies are taking advantage of the aftermath of the financial recession and are making use of the hungry youthful (7) ............ who are looking to get a head start in employment, they often offer false promises of employment and juggle around trainee´s to cover work posts in the interest of cost (8) .............
